#57 Silverball Mania - The Classic Pinball Podcast

George and Dave from The Classic Pinball Podcast discuss a 1980 Silverball Mania that Dave restored and is sending to a family in Connecticut. They cover Dave's restoration work (MPU board replacement, playfield restoration, lighting upgrades), the game's design by Jim Patla and Kevin O'Connor (including Easter eggs and provocative artwork), gameplay mechanics (the horseshoe shot, letter spelling, kicker activation), and the game's sister title Space Invaders. They also discuss a recent tournament at District 82 in Wisconsin where Keith Elwin played the game, contextualize Silverball Mania within Bally's weak 1980 lineup, and then play the game themselves.
