Bringing 3 Classic Pinball Machines Back to Life! Panthera, Tri-Zone & Mars God of War!

Video

Summary

Restoring three classic System 80/6 machines; two mostly working, one needs soundboard repair.

Mike Dymus from Pinball Shenanigans documents restoring three classic machines: Tri-Zone (Williams System 6, 1977), Mars God of War (Gottlieb 80, 1981), and Panthera (Gottlieb System 80, 1980). He successfully gets Tri-Zone and Mars God of War partially operational after discovering electrical issues (incorrect fuse values, overheating connectors), but encounters a failing soundboard and solenoid issues on Panthera that require further diagnosis and parts sourcing.

From the creator

After getting these machines set up in the last video, it's time to see what we've actually got! In this episode, I reconnect all of the wiring between the heads, cabinets, and playfields before powering up three classic pinball machines for the first time. Will they boot? Will they play? Or will they need a lot more work? Join me as I inspect, troubleshoot, and test: 🎯 Panthera 🎯 Tri-Zone 🎯 Mars God of War Every machine has its own issues, and the goal is to get each one as close to a fully playable state as possible. If you enjoy pinball restoration, repairs, diagnostics, and bringing vintage machines back from the dead, you'll enjoy this one! Let me know in the comments which game you'd like to see restored first and what repairs you think will be needed.
