Highlights

  • December 2019 was the only month of 2019 with three new games revealed from three different manufacturers
  • Stranger Things (Pro) was available for purchase on the same day Stern officially revealed game details
  • Rick and Morty sold all 750 units within a few hours of pre-order opening
  • Rick and Rick and Morty (SE) edition premium was $525 more than standard edition
  • Rick and Morty production will take approximately 18 months to complete all 750 units
  • Stern needs to sell games on hype before people play them, as they tend to flip machines after playing
  • Stranger Things (Pro) is based on seasons one and two of the Netflix series
  • Rick and Morty is Scott Danesi second released game

Notable quotes

this is the only month this year that we had three new games revealed. I think it's pretty impressive, really, right at the end of the year. And from three different companies.
Jonathan Euston
it was available to buy on the very same day that they revealed the details of the game to the public not only that it was even on location the day of the reveal it was yeah people could go and play it
Jonathan Euston
If you're going to leak anything, do it in the weekend
Martin Erb
I would say the majority of people don't have a Netflix subscription. And even those who do don't necessarily watch or enjoy Stranger Things (Pro). So you're targeting quite a small audience here.
Jonathan Euston
all 750 had gone... There were two versions available... the standard edition and the blood sucker edition... it seems that almost everybody has gone for the Bloodsucker edition which again kind of makes that not so much of an advantage. The standard is going to be much much rarer than the Bloodsucker version
Martin Erb
having the games available straight away while wonderful is also has a bit of a downside because it means that there's actually even more of a time delay between the game being released and what could be considered a final version of the code
Martin Erb
Teenage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a very strong rumor... we try to stick to the facts and the fact is that steven's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a very strong rumor
Team Pinball are not really a manufacturer they're more a game designer house
