Ep 186 Monster League Hockey

Jake Danzig discusses the development and reception of Monster League Hockey, a head-to-head homebrew pinball game built on a modified Alvin G Soccer donor with six flippers, custom electronics using FAST/MPF, and artwork by Brad Albright. The game debuted at Pinball Expo 2025 with overwhelming reception: generating 100+ pre-orders and a manufacturing deal: and features simultaneous two-player gameplay with innovative mechanics like monster meters, fight modes, power plays, and ghoul frenzy. Jake details the collaborative team (Nashville crew: Glenn Waechter, Eric Klotz, Joe Farnsworth, Austin Kerrigan; others including Lonnie Mihin, Nikki Green, Antoinette, Maddie), design philosophy balancing party/casual appeal with depth, artwork integration of community members as Easter eggs, and plans for Texas Pinball Festival.
