Southern Fried Gaming Expo Floor Walk - I Got Lost Between the Machines

Video

Summary

Southern Fried Gaming Expo showcases 400+ pinball machines with strong manufacturer presence; Barrels of Fun standout.

A walkthrough of Southern Fried Gaming Expo near closing time, showcasing the scale and variety of the show: approximately 400 pinball machines, extensive vendor areas across three halls, classic arcade cabinets, retro hardware, and e-sports sections. The speaker highlights strong showings by Jersey Jack Pinball (around 30 games including a dozen Sonic variants), Barrels of Fun (multiple Bon Jovis, Dooms, and Winchester), American Pinball (Galactic Tank Force), and Stern machines. The speaker expresses enthusiasm about returning despite minor venue critiques (lack of carpet).

From the creator

I went to the Southern Fried Gaming Expo with big plans and the coordination of a guy who just discovered his flippers are on the wrong side of the table. Today we’re doing the full floor walk, me wandering around like a lost dad at a carnival while every shiny pinball machine whispers “play me, old man, you know you want to.” Southern Fried Gaming Expo Floor Walk is pure chaos in the best way. Rows of machines, vendors who somehow still have patience for questions, and me trying to act cool while my brain does that thing where it starts calculating high scores I will never actually achieve. We’re talking nostalgia hits, terrible jokes, and the kind of self-roasts that only happen when you realize you’ve been standing in front of the same game for four minutes pretending to “study the artwork.” Expect the usual Grownup Adjacent energy: banter that goes nowhere useful, aggressive optimism about machines I can’t afford, and the occasional moment where I look straight at the camera and admit this is the most exercise I’ve gotten all week. No high scores today, just high levels of dad confusion and the occasional “wait, is that a Spike 3?”
