Video

Summary

Barrels of Fun reveals 50-person manufacturing operation, dual production lines, and vertical integration strategy.

A behind-the-scenes factory tour of Barrels of Fun pinball manufacturing reveals significant operational scaling: the company has grown from 12 to 50+ employees, expanded to two parallel production lines (Dune and Winchester), and invested in in-house vertical integration including CNC fabrication, laser welding, and rapid prototyping. The founder discusses managing growth challenges, production targets (8-10 games/day per line), and strategic decisions to maintain quality and employee welfare while meeting unexpectedly high demand for Winchester.

From the creator

Alright crew, I somehow scored exclusive behind the scenes access to the Barrels of Fun Pinball factory and my middle-aged dad brain is already running the odds on how many pristine playfields I can casually destroy with one wrong lean. This is the tour they give people who look like they know what a pop bumper is, not the guy still rocking cargo shorts and quoting bad 80s movies under his breath. I had been on a plane for most of the day arrived tired, sticky and somehow overwhelmed with excitement to get this great chance to see the real tour behind the scenes. This was basically an unannounced tour which provided a real snapshot of life inside the factory, nothing was staged or prepared in advance Today we are diving headfirst into the Barrels Of Fun Pinball Behind the Scenes Exclusive Access Tour because nothing screams “I have my life figured out” like watching actual professionals build these gorgeous machines while I stand there trying not to trip over a stack of ramps and ask if the multiball is made of real balls.
